Paddington, NSW
In association with Heike Rewitzer, Baukunst
A classically dark, dank, inverted terrace house was converted to light filled 3 bedroom home, within the limits of our builder client's relatively modest budget. Rich timber finishes are contrasted against light walls and light filled spaces opening to a sun-drenched courtyard. The use of several seamless mirrors creates the illusion of a space far grander than the 3.4m width might otherwise have allowed. The original stair was reused and incorporated into a service wall which also includes a hidden ground floor WC, kitchen, laundry and entertainment unit.
